Adobe Media Player released

Today Adobe has released the free Adobe Media Player for Mac and Win. Apart from the many features which you can see for yourself at the Adobe site, the ability to playback local flash video (flv) is great. Double-click an flv and the AMP will be launched and the flv starts to play. So movie trailers can now be made available for download as flv instead of mov or avi like in the past. Hooray :)

  2. I think that one feature makes it an essential install especially when combined with the Firefox DownloadHelper extension.
